Well, I don't know how stimulating the conversations will be but count me in.  My name is Jerry and I am a new sailor.  I have a Bristol 27  1975 sailboat which I recently  purchased.  I am at this time docked at Pete's Pier in Crystal River, Fl.
     I have done very limited sailing on the Great Lakes years ago as I am from Northern Michigan.  I  moved from Michigan to Florida nearly 3 years ago and love it.

     I will have many questions to ask of you guys.  I do participate on some other forums as well but I'm also rather a newbie there too.

Cheers,
Jerry

I'm new to the forum, also and glad to be here.  Stimulating?  I'm not sure about that.

By way of an intro, my husband and I cruised aboard a Gemini Catamaran for 5 years with our daughter and loved it.  Returned to land so our daughter could do HS and college.  She's now married and on her own and we empty nesters now live aboard a 50 foot Prout Quasar in Miami.  We bought SeaWolf out of Venezuela in 2000, gutted and rebuilt her to what we wanted and couldn't be happier with the way she turned out.  We're now counting down the months to our next cruising adventure.  We've posted pictures on our website, so do visit and let us know what you think. javascript:void(0);

Hi people.  I'm a newbie on computer but not so when it comes to sailing.  I've got a lot of water under me and a new blog post reality at http://Http://wwwcaptcookrules-robbin.blogspot.com/  but so what?  Here is the good news!  I can't wait to hear whatever you got when it comes to spinning a yarn!  I got a bunch of hairy sailin' stories!  They are so salty that I am compelled to spit them at ya!  But only on one condition.  I know!  What's the Ketch?  Arrrhhh!!!  You have to match them.  Not to much to ask but you have to know, I already know mine!!!  It's yours, that needs the hearin!!! Here is the deal!  My name is Robbin.  I've sailed a long way and have a ton of thoughts that I would love to share with all of you who love to sail!  My blog or site is http://captcookrules-robbin.blogspot.com/  The reason I am inviting you into my world is - beware- Jimmy Buffett loves you!  No, just kidding!  Well, you really can't be sure, can ya?  Ha!  I sure loved seeing him in San Die-a-go, at shelter island amp-a-the-ate-errrr!  Naw! Still kiding but not really!  Life is to short not to tell our stories of how MNother Ocean affects us all!  Don't you agree?  RB

[/Hello,
I don't know about stimulating conversation but advice would be great!  I've always had a yearning to sale and now kids are grown and I have a portable business (www.fundabetterlife.com), I want to learn to sale and buy a yacht!  I have basic experience and a passion for the sea but I don't know where to start looking for the right course.  Can you get yachts with internet access via satelite?  I'm based in the UK and want to escape and travel the world! quote]
